Palmistry is important because of the fact that it can help a person to take the right path. It helps in the decisions of higher education, career, and even marital life. The accuracy of palmistry is pretty high, with respect to the predictions. It indicates the characteristic features and traits of a person.

With the help of palmistry, you can also get to know your strengths and weaknesses. The features of the lines in your palm can tell you many intricate and innate qualities of your mind. In essence, it is a much traditional and ancient SWOT analysis.
Major Lines of Palmistry:
There are three major lines in Palmistry:
Life Line in Palm Reading:
- This is the line that starts anywhere between the index finger and the thumb and runs down till your the end of the palm.
- The lifeline indicates the person’s enthusiasm, animosity, health, and well-being.
- It indicates the major injuiries, hazards and catastrophes.
- This line also informs about the a person’s health and relationships with others.
- People often believe that lifeline can reveal how long a person’s life can last, but this is just not true. Another myth about the lifeline is that the length of the lifeline indicates the length of the native’s life. Although these may seem logical, these are not how palm reading works.
Heart Line Palm Reading:
- The heart line starts under the middle or index finger and extends horizontally below the pinky finger.
- Since it is the heart line and our emotions are traditonally considered to be from our heart, this line can reveal information about a person’s emotions, relationships and their emotional intelligence.
- It is also said to represent the cardiac health of a person. For example, a rounded and branched heart may indicate that the native is a thrill seeker.
- The heart line also tells about a person’s attitude towards love and his perspective on love and romance. For example, a chained heart line can mean that the person has a more casual towards love.
Head Line Palm Reading:
- The headline is the line that starts right above the lifeline, going straight through the palm horizontally.
- It is also known as the ‘wisdom line’. This is because it indicates the mental development of a person and their intellectual capabilites.
- Due to the above-mentioned reason, the headline is considered to be one of the most important lines in the palmistry.
- The creativity, innovation and critical thinking are said to be related to the head line.
- Further, the head line represents the ease with which the native can grasp a new concept, efficiency in communication and articulation, and their intellect itself.
The combined lengths of all the three major lines are considered during a palm reading session. If the combined length is shorter than the native’s foot, then the person is easy to get convinced by others. And if it is longer, he/she tends to be arrogant and dominant.
Minor Lines of Palmistry:
Next in the order to the three major lines of palmistry are the minor or secondary lines. Unlike the major lines, the minor lines can mean different things depending on the features of the hand such as its shape, mounts, and adjacent lines. These lines give information about the native’s interests, strengths, weaknesses, and hidden talents. In many cases, these lines tend to be very faint.
There are nine common secondary lines-
- Fate line
- Bracelet lines
- Relationship lines
- Intuition line
- Health line
- Apollo line
- Girdle of Venus
- Mercury line
- Children line
Mounts in Palmistry:
The mounts in palmistry are the elevated regions (hence the name mounts) in your palm, made of heaps of flesh. They are named after the astrological planets. These lines play a significant role in the reading of a person’s palm. The mounts tell about how our bodies and minds are made, in that the components and constituents of them.
There are nine major mounts in palmistry:
- Jupiter Mount (below the index finger)
- Saturn Mount (below the middle finger)
- Apollo Mount (below the ring finger)
- Mercury Mount (below the pinky finger)
- Venus Mount (the big bump adjacent to the thumb)
- Plain of Mars (the depressed region in the middle of the palm)
- Luna Mount (opposite to the Venus Mount and just above the wrist)
- Inner Mars Mount (between the Jupiter and Venus Mounts)
- Outer Mars Mount (between the Mercury and Luna Mounts)
Given that there are only a very few means by which you can get to know one’s future and past events, palmistry is important in knowing them. It is also reliable because it is one of the forms of Jyotisha (Vedic Astrology). So, it only seems logical to get a palm reading too if you ever want to know about yourself with much deeper insight.
